Residents from several UCLA residence halls were allowed back into their dorms early Thursday after a phoned-in bomb threat proved unfounded.

Campus areas that weren't under evacuation were on lockdown. Thousands of evacuated students from three dorms were ushered into Drake Stadium, KTLA reported. Several of the evacuees were tearful children who were staying on campus for summer camp programs.
