Suspicious Item Prompts Evacuation at The Grove
What turned out to be a backpack with clothes prompted an evacuation at a parking structure at The Grove.

A suspicious item prompted the evacuation today of a parking structure at The Grove shopping and entertainment center in Los Angeles’ Fairfax district center, but it turned out to be backpack with only clothes inside, police said.
The backpack was found on the fifth floor of the structure about 5 p.m., said Sgt. Ludivix Villaflor of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Station.
The Grove and the adjacent Farmer’s Market remained open while a bomb squad investigated, he said.

The all-clear was given about 9 p.m., he said.
