TWO WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE CELEBRATED ON ONE EXTRAORDINARY DAY!

With a compelling sense of passion and purpose, five hundred women gathered March 19, 2015 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills to honor inspiring and tireless Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services supporters, Deedy Oberman and Susan Corwin.

Vista’s 3rd Annual Women of Excellence Awards luncheon featured Laura Ornest as emcee, Sheila Kuehl as Special Guest, and 10-time Grammy Award winning musical superstar, Chaka Khan, performing an original song she co wrote with Ira Schickman entitled, I Believe. All were left breathless as Chaka Khan sang with all her heart, blending her magical voice with Vista’s own Arts Enrichment students, The Vista Players.

Thanks to the great generosity of presenters and attendees alike, this year’s Women Of Excellence luncheon was an overwhelming success, raising in excess of $500,000 for Vista’s unique comprehensive Arts Enrichment Programs, designed for children of all circumstance and ability.

Dr. Louis Josephson, President and CEO of Vista was deeply grateful for the opportunity to honor Deedy Oberman with The Ruth Shuken Humanitarian Award, reflecting her many years of service and philanthropy, and indefatigable Susan Corwin, with the The Visionary Award, based on her boundless dedication of time and resources to Vista Del Mar.

Following an afternoon of celebration, inspiration, and gratitude, Vista’s leadership gathered to begin planning next year’s event. As has been the case for more than 100 years, where there is a need to be of service to children in Los Angeles, Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, together with the LA’s exceptional community of women, will meet and exceed it.
