A Home for Honda and Acura Enthusiasts to Meet Every Month

Norm Reeves Honda of Cerritos holds a meet for Honda and Acura enthusiast in their dealership parking lot every month. Here you will find many tastefully modified cars spanning various years.

Every second week of every month, holds an invite only meeting for Honda and Acura owners. These owners are invited by Chris Pinedo, Norm Reeves Honda's meet coordinator, through online forums.

Forget what you think you know about the Fast and the Furious, here you won’t find a rowdy and disorganized bunch. These group of enthusiasts dedicate their time, money and energy to take care of their Hondas and Acuras, and come together in a mature and peaceful manner. Once the clock strikes 7pm, an assortment of Honda and Acuras quietly show up and Pinedo guides his guests to the part department’s parking lot area.

Most of the vehicles that show up consisted of the latest generation Honda Accord, each unique to one another with different styles of modifications. Along with the Accords, Civics and S2000s tag along as well. Many of these Hondas are considered to be modified conservatively. There are no airplane sized spoiler or Transformer looking body kits on any of these vehicles. The modifications mostly consist of factory spoilers, aftermarket lowering suspensions, exhausts, and wheels. Beside Hondas, the iconic Acura NSX and Acura Integra Type-R came out to support the Acura family. Car enthusiasts consider these two cars to be the saving grace of Acura. The two were very limited in production and most of the car was hand built with attention to detail.

Those who attended the recent meet were very friendly to one another. Handshakes and waves were given to one another. These folks surely feel as if they are from the same family. The conversation stayed mostly car related, usually about each other's car and past experiences. Whether it was about car problems or what modifications to do, no criticism was ever involved.

Pinedo says that the meet at Norm Reeves Honda has been going on for about 3 to 4 years, roughly 6 to 8 times a year. Not many dealers at Cerritos Auto Square participate or even promote car meets. Many unofficially car meets that take place in Cerritos-Artesia usually get shut down by law enforcement officials because of loitering on a private lot. Having a car meet at an official location such as the Norm Reeves Honda dealer is a big treat for these enthusiasts. It is safe and well managed by the supervisors and workers.
