Deputy Involved Shooting Injures One

The shooting occurred about 10:15 a.m. near Sunset Street and Pine Avenue.

A man was wounded today in a deputy-involved shooting in North Long Beach, authorities said.

The sheriff's department did not disclose the circumstances of the shooting, which occurred about 10:15 a.m. near Sunset Street and Pine Avenue.

But a woman told KCAL9 that the wounded man was walking with a girl about 9 years old, who was not injured.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, but his condition was unknown. No deputies were hurt.

A handgun was recovered at the scene, according to the sheriff's department.
