Helpline Youth Counseling offers free Responsible Beverage Service Training

Helpline youth counseling is hosting a FREE Responsible Beverage Service training from 1:30 to 4:30pm on Thursday June 27 in the City of Norwalk at 12440 E. Firestone Blvd Suite 1000 Norwalk, CA 90650. Registration will begin at 1:00 pm.

The Responsible Beverage Service training, also known as “server training,” is a Community Prevention Initiative no-cost training.  Our program is certified by the State to provide Responsible Beverage Service Training to reduce liability.  Responsible Beverage Service is a research-based environmental prevention strategy found to be effective in reducing hazardous alcohol use at licensed alcohol establishments and community events.  This practical, participatory workshop provides owners and their employees, hotels and restaurants and their employees, community based organizations and their fundraising teams with the professional server's standards established by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The training program will incorporate hands on training using training guides, video, and open discussion. Training topics consist of:

·         Sales to intoxicated persons

·         Protecting your business, protecting yourself

·         How to stay within ABC laws

The training is open to anyone interested and is appropriate for community members interested in learning the steps necessary to build an effective Responsible Beverage Service Program for their communities.
