The first place I used to display the beginnings of my Catholic statue collection was the top of my curio cabinet. The statue of Mary in the center was actually chosen by my youngest son at our church's religious articles store one day. A couple of the statues are from an estate sale in Norwalk. There are other assorted statues and plaques that have been added over the years.
In trying to find other people that collect religious articles I searched the internet using the phrases "religious statue collection" "Catholic statue collection" but could not really find anything or anyone that had this same passion. Finally one day I searched on "Catholic Home Altar" and I had a lot of results and found many pictures posted that were similar to this one. Now I have found others that have keep religious articles in their homes and display them the way I do.
I also use this space to place funeral cards of loved ones that have passed recently. There have been so many funerals this year...mom's of friends that were like moms to me, two of my neighbors, a neighbor from our 'old' house in Lakewood, friends from church that have been great spiritual examples to me. I pray for their souls and I pray for their families who miss them so.
As I wait in joy filled hope.....
