• Men's soccer ends tough preseason with foreseeable victory (talonmarks.com) — Cerritos College men's soccer capped a rocky preseason with a 3–0 home win over Los Angeles Pierce, their first match on the newly finished Falcons soccer field in Cerritos. Despite multiple yellow cards, the defending state champions looked dominant in possession and scoring, and now turn their focus to hosting rival Mt. San Antonio College at home on October 6.
   

• CHP Investigating Deadly Cerritos Two-Vehicle Collision on Northbound I-605 (pacificattorneygroup.com) — Early this morning, a two-vehicle crash on northbound I-605 near SR-91 in Cerritos killed one person and shut down the freeway, with traffic diverted off South Street for several hours. Lanes gradually reopened after a SigAlert that lasted until about 4:44 a.m., and CHP investigators are still working to determine what caused the deadly collision.
