Good Morning, Everybody!
I had a quick journey to OZ this morning when right at 8am (don't you love those little scam artists for being such eager beavers getting about the business of stealing money?) I and my husband-- on two different phone lines- both at the same time received calls from the "federal government" offered us each a one time $9,000 grant and when I expressed incredulity, offered to let me pick up my grant check at almost certainly made up address in Washington, DC. Did I mention this call was obviously from an out of country call center?
I mean seriously, didn't they think I could see the little man behind the curtain? They wanted my account number for "wiring in the deposit" or my visa, amex, mastercard or discovery card number for depositing the funds to me. This was a "one time offer, not available again from the United States Government."
I was so impressed (DUH) I hung up. Of course the phone number was restricted! No help there, but these days even when a number shows on your phone there is no guarantee that it's not a dummy number.
I just wanted to post this little experience so no one else wastes their time today with these scammers.
BE AWARE! These guys are after all they can get!
Have a great day!
