• Earthquake measuring 2.1 struck area close to Challenge-Brownsville, CA on July 23 (sacbee.com) — A small 2.1 magnitude earthquake shook an area about four miles east of Challenge-Brownsville late Thursday night, July 23, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. While quakes this size are rarely felt or damaging, residents are reminded to review basic safety steps like drop, cover, and hold on, and can submit a USGS “Did You Feel It?” report if they noticed any shaking.
