The message, sent out of caution, follows statewide concern about increased federal actions and reassures local students, staff, and families about the university's stance.
4. Iron Canyon fish passage project reopens 8.5 miles of Big Chico Creek habitat (krcrtv.com) — Work in Upper Bidwell Park has reopened 8.5 miles of Big Chico Creek, restoring critical habitat for salmon and steelhead that pass through Chico. Crews replaced a failed fish ladder at Iron Canyon with a natural rock channel, and biologists will now monitor whether endangered fish return, while also checking how the new structures handle winter storms and sediment from recent fires.
