A city planner credits state climate and energy policies and notes that shifting more buildings from natural gas to electricity will be key for deeper cuts, though no new policies are proposed yet.

2. Camp Fire tribute sculpture lands permanently at CSU Chico (actionnewsnow.com) — A new large-scale Chinook salmon sculpture honoring Camp Fire resilience has been permanently installed between Kendall Hall and the Tribal Relations building at Chico State. Community members watched as the thousands‑pound steel artwork was placed, creating a lasting public piece that symbolizes overcoming life's challenges and will now be part of the daily campus landscape in Chico.

3. Chico State alerts campus to unconfirmed ICE activity (mynspr.org) — Chico State has alerted students and employees to unconfirmed reports of ICE activity in Chico, stressing that campus police do not assist immigration enforcement on university grounds.
