• Chico PD confirms ICE access, data loss in new report (chicosol.org) — Chico residents should know that police confirmed Immigration and Customs Enforcement accessed the city's license plate reader network this summer, and that key access logs were lost when data sharing was halted. A new internal audit details legal concerns, rising program costs nearing $1.5 million through 2031, and expanded camera plans. City Council will publicly discuss the audit and a possible independent review on Sept. 21.
