• Queer Week (csuchico.edu) — Chico State students and community members can dive into October Queer Week starting today, with daily events like tie-dye on Trinity Lawn, zine-making, live music, and a sapphic speed dating night. Hosted by the Gender & Sexuality Equity Coalition, the week centers queer community, creativity, and connection, with all participants welcome and disability accommodations available by request.
   

• Man found dead in Chico's Lindo Channel after e-bike crash (actionnewsnow.com) — Chico police are investigating after a man was found dead in Lindo Channel near Manzanita Avenue and Hilda Way, apparently after crashing an electric bicycle overnight. First responders confirmed his death at the scene, and investigators believe he left the roadway before falling into the channel. Anyone who saw anything is urged to call Chico Police with case number 26-007510.
   

• Blood drives coming to Chico, Oroville and Yuba City this October (actionnewsnow.com) — Blood donors in Chico can give at California State University, Chico on October 13 and 14, with each donation entering participants into a drawing for $10,000 gift cards. Vitalant highlights how blood donations support cancer patients and others needing transfusions, and encourages residents to check eligibility and book appointments online, by app, or phone.
