ā¢ 15-year-old from valley āsurprised herself' by qualifying for U.S. Women's Open (yourcentralvalley.com) ā Two teenage golfers with strong Chowchilla ties are headed to the U.S. Womenās Open at Riviera Country Club, including current resident Anita Lumpongpoung and Chowchilla native Asterisk Talley. Anita, who moved to Chowchilla to better pursue golf, now practices up to eight hours a day while helping at her familyās Madera restaurant and hopes simply to make the cut and enjoy the moment.
