Southbound I-5 Closed at SR-54 Evening of September 30 (ca.gov) — If you drive between Chula Vista and San Diego, expect a full southbound I-5 closure at SR-54 on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will install new overhead signs as part of a larger I-5 Asset Management Project that's resurfacing pavement and upgrading the freeway from San Diego through Chula Vista and National City.

The analysis suggests local residents may face higher costs and fewer plant‑based dining and grocery options than neighbors in top‑ranked California cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, and San Diego.
   

3. Chula Vista Fire Department hosts annual K-9 recertification training (10news.com) — Chula Vista residents may notice elite fire investigation dogs training around town this week, as the Chula Vista Fire Department hosts a three-day national K-9 recertification.
