Candidate for the 8th Assembly District Doug Haaland (R-Arden Park), who authored Dustin’s Law after the murder of his youngest grandson, today received the endorsement of Mike Reynolds, author of California’s “Three Strikes” Law.
“Doug Haaland has my full support and endorsement in his upcoming assembly race as well as my eternal gratitude for the countless, uncompensated hours that he donated to the passage of 3 Strikes and a safer California,” said Reynolds.
Mike Reynolds is a recognized figure in the victims’ rights arena and continues to frequently work with the Legislature on increasing public safety in our communities.

“In 1993, 20 years ago when California’s crime rates were over twice as high as today, my 18 year old daughter became the murder victim of 2 repeat offenders fresh out of prison. This murder was the original spark that set off the 3 Strikes Law. One of the original core supporters that helped take this idea to Sacramento was Doug Haaland,” Reynolds continued. “It is ironic that at a time when we are now seeing the recent and dramatic increase of criminals being returned to our streets that once again a champion would arise from the original 3 Strikes effort to run for office.”
“I’m honored to have received Mike’s endorsement. We’ve fought side-by-side for years to make California a safer place, and I look forward to continuing that fight as the representative for the 8th Assembly District,” Haaland said.
