Ever heard of Dead Poets Society? Well, we're the Dead Authors Club. Teens will read classic literary works by renowned authors and meet to discuss them with other teens over snacks. Show Way tells the story of Soonie, a young enslaved girl who uses quilts to show the way to freedom. After a reading of this powerful story, children will use swatches of scrapbook paper to make their own paper quilts using the symbols that point to freedom.
