• Major remodel proposed for Fire Station 23 in Citrus Heights (citrusheightssentinel.com) — A key Citrus Heights fire station on Greenback Lane may soon be demolished and rebuilt as a larger, modern two‑story facility with five engine bays and upgraded firefighter living quarters. Metro Fire is asking the city for a setback variance due to the narrow lot, saying the project will improve emergency response, safety, and long‑term service for Citrus Heights residents and businesses.
   

• The SOL Project (egcitizen.com) — A regional health effort called The SOL Project is working to create smoke‑free homes, apartments, and outdoor spaces across the Sacramento Valley, including Citrus Heights. The group partners with residents, churches, and local leaders to reduce tobacco‑related health disparities and offers education, youth engagement, and resources for people who want to quit smoking or vaping.
