(citrusheightssentinel.com) — San Juan Unified is filling a newly vacated Trustee Area 1 school board seat by provisional appointment, rather than an immediate special election, with applications due Oct. 2 and interviews planned Oct. 13. Leaders contrasted this with a 2023 Citrus Heights-area vacancy, when strong local pressure led to a special election, and residents can still petition for one within 30 days of the appointment.
