The work should take about three weeks, after which signs will be uncovered and the Claremont Police Department will begin a 30-day warning period before issuing tickets under the new limits.
2. 44th Annual Village Venture Arts & Crafts Festival Arrives In Claremont Oct. 24 (patch.com) — Claremont's biggest annual event, the Village Venture Arts & Crafts Festival, returns to the Claremont Village on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. With more than 400 booths, live music, food, and a costume parade plus beer, cider, and a wine garden, it's expected to draw thousands of visitors into town.
3. Career Development Office Helps Students and Alumni Build Futures (pomona.edu) — Pomona College's Career Development Office, part of the Claremont Colleges ecosystem, is ramping up employer meetups and career programs that Claremont-area students can tap into. From Smart Start Career Fellows to internship funding, grad school prep, and consortium-wide recruiting events with major companies, the office supports both students and alumni as they map out careers and win competitive scholarships.
4. Harvey Mudd Engineering Clinic Legacy Drives Global Readership in MRS Advances (hmc.edu) — Harvey Mudd College in Claremont is celebrating that two Engineering Clinic papers, based on Sandia National Laboratories projects, rank among the most-read in the journal MRS Advances. The story highlights how these collaborations give undergraduates a direct role in cutting-edge materials research and even inspire startups, underscoring the global reach of work originating on the Claremont campus.
