Do you have a penchant for decorating and a flair for the patriotic?
If so, the 2013 Independence Day Committee is looking for you. The committee has invited Claremont residents to enter its House Decorating Contest.
Decorations must be outdoors and visible from the street, according to the organizers. Judges will make their picks June 23.
Homes will be judged based on spirit, appearance, and creativity. The winner of the grand prize will get recognition at the city's pre-parade reception, a special place in the parade, fireworks tickets, and an American flag that has flown over the Capitol, according to the committee.
To get an entry forms, visit the event's website at www.Claremont4th.org.
The city of Claremont celebrates the Fourth of July with a 5K run, a pancake breakfast, flag raising, parade, festival, and fireworks show.
