Claremont's Traffic Signals to get New Caretakers

Claremont awarded a $90,000 contract to an Anaheim-based company to maintain the city's traffic lights.

Claremont’s City Council has contracted with an Anaheim-based company for the maintenance of 48 traffic signals throughout the city.

Aegis ITS Inc. earned a contract worth $90,000 for the year, to inspect and maintain traffic signals at 45 intersections and three pedestrian signals. The total maintenance cost per signal, including inspections, routine and emergency maintenance, is budged at $2,000 per year, officials said.

The city received three proposals for routine and emergency traffic signal maintenance services, according to city officials. Aegis provided the best offer, officials said. The company has worked with public agencies since 2002 and serves Montclair, Upland, and La Verne, officials said.
