Construction on Second Street Begins

Construction on a Southern California Edison project on Second Street in Claremont has begun.

Edison is replacing its existing vault on the north side of Second Street, just east of the Claremont Library driveway, according to the city's website.

The construction will require Second Street to be closed for up to three weeks between Harvard and College, officials said.

Preliminary work on Second Street to get the project prepped is being done Monday and Tuesday.  The street will remain open while the prep work is being done, officials said.
