Crews Hold The Line Against Brush Fire In Claremont
Firefighters were able to stop the forward progress of a fast moving brush fire in Claremont Thursday night.

CLAREMONT, CA — A two-alarm brush fire in Claremont scorched around five acres of brush Thursday evening and forced firefighters into structure protection mode.
The fire was reported about 8:10 p.m. in the area of Johnson Pasture Motorway and Mountain Avenue, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said.
Crews went into structure protection mode as the fire burned through medium to heavy fuels, according to the fire department.

By about 9:20 p.m., the fire department reported that the fire's "forward progress" had been stopped, with crews holding it to five acres, and no structures were threatened.
