Critical Missing Man Found Safe and Sound

A man La Verne man reported missing on Wednesday was found in good condition yesterday afternoon.

For those of you who answered a call to be on the lookout for a missing La Verne man, you can rest easy, officers said. He's been found safe and sound.

The La Verne Police Department had received word Wednesday from Covina Police Department that issued an alert on a "critical missing person that walked away from a facility in their city."

Denis Doyle, 70, who lives on Arrow Highway in La Verne had been staying at a Covina Aurora Charter Oak Hospital, officials reported.

Doyle was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday by a nurse at the facility in the 1100 block of East Covina Boulevard, Covina police Lt. John Curley said.

Medical staff and police suspected he might try and return home. Doyle suffers from dementia, officials said. 

Covina Police Detective Daniel Rudd, acting watch sergeant at the station, said a resident potted Doyle sitting on a fence on Stevens Avenue in Bellflower around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Doyle asked if he could the witness' restroom. The resident said no but told Doyle he would call the police to help him out, according to Rudd.
