Did the Supreme Court Make a Mistake in its Ruling on Gay Marriage?
Same-sex marriage opponents insist Supreme Court has no authority to redefine marriage. Some have begun speaking out.

While much of the focus of today’s Supreme Court rulings has been on supporters of same-sex marriage, opponents have are also coming forward to speak out.
At the moment, many of them are drowned out by celebratory voices of those happy with the court’s decision that essentially strickes down California ban on gay marriage – read our story by clicking here.
For a majority of those opposed to same-sex marriage religion and faith are a big factor. And those speaking out against are primarily religious leaders or Christian leaders.

Following this morning’s announcement, many Christians have Tweeted or Facebooked an article in Christianity Today written by Ed Setzer titled “Prop 8, DOMA, and the Christian Response, What Should We Do Now?”
The article reads, in part:

“Regardless of the ruling from the Supreme Court, your church—as well as mine—has the same mission it did last week: we are to love people and share the Good News of Christ with them.
I know it feels like many are reeling from this announcement. As I wrote in November, Christians are increasingly considering the reality that we might be on the losing side of the culture war. In truth, it will take weeks—and possibly months—for us to understand the full weight of this Supreme Court decision.
But we should not panic. It does not help to speak in ways that do not honor Christ. The sky is not falling. Jesus is still King and God is still sovereign.
We cling to the cross, stand on the rock, and remain steadfast in the hope found only in Christ. For we alone have that hope. And it is that hope which we are commanded to share with the world, whether Christianity is the cultural norm or not.”
