The closure may be up for as long as three weeks or until the county-mandated order is rescinded. So far, Roberta’s Village Inn, Lordsburg Taphouse and Grill, and Argo are taking advantage of the space available on the street for food service. Warehouse Pizza and House of Wings are reportedly planning to open street dining as well.

Restaurants on the Foothill Corridor are also able to use outdoor and parking lot space as their landlords (and city regulations) permit. Some, such as Mi Ranchito and Panera, already have patios; others, such as Tenderloin, are said to be working toward outdoor seating. The City, as well as the County Dept. of Alcoholic Beverage Control, are moving quickly to approve requests for permits from eatery owners.

The County Health Office ordered the closure of some types of higher-risk businesses, including Brewpubs, craft distilleries and breweries and wineries, with premises set aside for beer and/or wine tasting, that are exempt from the definition of a food facility by California Health and Safety Code Section 113789(c)(5), and do not hold a health permit for preparing and serving food on site.
