A note sent to Claremont, La Verne Patch. La Verne Heights Elementary School PTA will be presenting their 16th annual Walk-A-Thon on Wednesday, May 22 from 9 am until Noon. The Walk-A-Thon is the major fundraiser for the school. So far $38,500 has been raised. This has surpassed their goal for this year. Sponsors who have donated $150 or more to the Walk-A-Thon receive a sponsor board that is displayed in the front of the school. These signs are hand made by a parent volunteer. Many dignitaries will be in attendance including Bonita Unified School District superintendent and other personnel, City of La Verne officials, and various businesses and sponsors. A BBQ lunch sponsored by Jiffy Lube in Covina is provided for all students after the walk. For more information about this event, please call the school office at (909) 971-8205.
