• Claremont McKenna College opens a new football stadium (dailybulletin.com) — Claremont residents now have a brand-new local football destination, as Claremont McKenna College's Patrick G. Rogan Stadium and the surrounding Sports Bowl complex have opened on the Roberts Campus. The facility already hosted its first Stags football win and will soon add upgraded spaces for baseball, softball, golf, soccer, track, lacrosse, and sports medicine, expanding recreation options for the Claremont Colleges community.
   

• Family of man who died after Claremont police traffic stop files federal lawsuit (abc7.com) — A new federal civil rights lawsuit accuses the city of Claremont and its police department of wrongdoing in the 2025 traffic stop that preceded Diego Rios' death. Filed by Rios' family, the suit challenges officers' handling of his apparent mental health crisis and use of force, while city officials say the incident remains under investigation by county authorities.
   

• Kaitlan Sakuma named to California Student Aid Commission (asamnews.com) — A Pitzer College student in Claremont, Kaitlan Kiku Sakuma, has been appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to the California Student Aid Commission, which oversees key financial aid programs statewide. Drawing on her own experience paying for an expensive private education, she plans to advocate for more accessible, equitable aid for students at public and private institutions across California.
