School Threat Does Not Close Bonita High School In La Verne
Did you send your child to school Friday? A school threat released by La Verne's Bonita High School was received over Snapchat.

LA VERNE, CA — It is a country in crisis as schools across the southland have reported various threats this week. In La Verne, a Snapchat message was received by various individuals addressed to ‘BHS” students, according to the Bonita Unified School District, Bonita High School and La Verne Police Department officials.
"The message indicated a threat of a school shooting," a spokesperson for the La Verne Police Department said in release.
Though the message was received by numerous high schools throughout several states, all high schools with the initials BHS took notice.

"An ongoing investigation has revealed that the Snapchat message originated in the state of New Mexico and that they have a suspect in custody," the police said. "The message appears to target a school in Belen New Mexico, however as a precautionary measure La Verne Police Department will have extra officers patrolling on and around the Bonita High School campus throughout the day, Friday.
La Verne Police believes the Snapchat is not related to Bonita High School in La Verne.

"This Snapchat appears to be a message that has gone viral and continues to be shared on social media," they said.
Undaunted, the La Verne Unified School District reported that all schools will maintain a normal schedule and will be in session Friday, Feb. 23.
The Bonita Unified School District and the La Verne Police Department continue to work together to monitor any future developments and provide updates.
