Sheriffs: Texting Causes Local Two-Vehicle Crash

A woman who was texting while driving triggered a two-vehicle crash Saturday in neighboring San Dimas that sent one vehicle crashing through a fence into a backyard, and the other overturned, a sheriff's sergeant said.

The condition of the woman and the other driver, a 16-year-old boy, was not immediately known. They were both driving alone, said Sgt. Rebecca Rodriguez of the sheriff's San Dimas station.

The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. on Arrow Highway and Lone Hill Avenue, Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said deputies arriving at the scene found one vehicle overturned at the intersection and the second one in a backyard on nearby Hampton Court. It was not immediately which person was in the overturned vehicle, or the vehicle that wound in the backyard. The sheriff's lieutenant also had no descriptions of the vehicles.

No one was cited or arrested. Paramedics rushed both drivers to an area hospital.
