Teenage Rider of Disabled Bike Struck Twice, Killed

Devin Cortina, 19, of Apple Valley, died at the scene of the crash on the westbound 10, east of Town Avenue, reported at 12:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Cortina's 2007 Suzuki became disabled in a far left lane of the freeway and while standing in the lane, he was struck by a Toyota truck and thrown into the adjacent lane, where he was struck again by a Hyundai Sonata.
Cortina came to rest in the lane in which his bike broke down, the CHP reported.
Efrain Acosta, 25, of Azusa, was the pickup driver; the Hyundai was driven by Socorro Frias, 47, of Maywood.
In addition to those crashes, a Mazda 626 driven by Renesha Williams, 20, of Inglewood and a Honda Civic driven by Nelson Kim, 21, of Upland, crashed into each other, the CHP reported.
Those vehicles did not strike the motorcycle rider, according to the CHP.
