1. Call for Title II Project Proposals 2026 (usda.gov) — Based out of Clovis, the Sierra National Forest Resource Advisory Committee is now accepting Title II project proposals through July 6 for work benefiting forest lands in Fresno and Madera counties. Local individuals and organizations can seek funding for efforts like watershed restoration, habitat improvements, or road maintenance, but must coordinate with Forest Service staff and secure district approval before submitting.
   

2. Community, Cigna contract dispute could cut off Fresno patients July 1 (thebusinessjournal.com) — Clovis Community Medical Center could be out-of-network for Cigna patients as soon as July 1 if Community Health System and Cigna don’t reach a new contract. While Blue Shield members just regained in-network access, many Fresno-area and Clovis residents may soon need new providers or apply for continuity-of-care waivers to keep seeing their doctors.
   

3. Pint for a Pint Blood Drive at Central California Blood Center (kmjnow.com) — Clovis residents can give blood at the Clovis Donor Center on West Herndon this summer and earn a free pint of ice cream, cookie, and T-shirt during the Pint for a Pint drive. The campaign runs July 1 through September 7 across Central California Blood Center locations to help supply thousands of pints needed monthly for local hospitals.
   

4. Fresno County deputies arrest two suspects in 2019 killing of Selma man (modbee.com) — Two Clovis residents have been arrested in connection with the 2019 shooting death of an 18-year-old Selma man found near Fowler, according to Fresno County deputies. Investigators say the suspects, now in their twenties, are facing murder charges, and they’re still asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Valley Crime Stoppers.
