1. Clovis City Council members vote against pay increase (abc30.com) ā Clovis City Council members have voted to keep their monthly salaries at $1,500, rejecting a proposed increase to $1,900. The decision means council pay will remain below what similarly sized California cities offer, after members chose an option that made no changes.

Incumbent leads race to head Fresno County schools while former Clovis leader trails (fresnobee.com) ā Clovis families should know that former Clovis Unified superintendent Eimear OāBrien is currently trailing incumbent Michele Cantwell-Copher in the primary for Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, with votes still being counted. The race will determine who oversees Clovis Unified and 30 other districts, either with an outright win now or a November runoff between the top two candidates.

Margot Kim (abc30.com) ā A familiar face to many Clovis families, longtime ABC30 anchor Margot Kim is a Fresno native and graduate of Clovis West High School whoās built a 25-year broadcast career. She now co-anchors several Action News evening newscasts and stays active locally by mentoring youth, volunteering with charities, and singing the National Anthem at community events.

Republican incumbent Vincent Fong has decisive lead in congressional District 20 race (fresnobee.com) ā Clovis voters are part of Californiaās 20th Congressional District, where incumbent Republican Vince Fong currently holds a large lead in the latest vote tally and is poised to advance to Novemberās general election. The district stretches across parts of Fresno, Kern, Kings, and Tulare counties and leans heavily Republican in voter registration.
