1 Dead In Fiery Crash On Highway 4 Near Pittsburg
The driver of a Hyundai Tucson died at the scene of the crash on state Highway 4, the California Highway Patrol said.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — One person died in a fiery crash Wednesday on state Highway 4 near Pittsburg, the California Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash involved one car and was reported at 10:15 a.m. on eastbound SR-4 on the south Bailey Road offramp.
The CHP determined that a Hyundai Tucson SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver exited the freeway and collided with a guardrail on the offramp.

"As a result of the collision, the vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed," the CHP said.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity was not being released Wednesday pending the notification of his next of kin by the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
