2 Wounded In Contra Costa Freeway Shooting: CHP
Detectives were working to identify the suspect and determine a possible motive.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Detectives with the California Highway Patrol are investigating a freeway shooting Monday in Contra Costa County that left two people hospitalized.
The shooting was reported at 5:30 a.m. on westbound state Highway 4 near state Highway 160 in the Antioch area. There were two cars involved and both continued westbound until the victim's car, a GMC Terrain, was in a collision near Hillcrest Avenue.
The suspect's car, described as a dark-colored BMW, kept traveling westbound and fled the scene, the CHP said.

Officers responded to find a passenger in the Terrain suffering gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening. The driver of the Terrain suffered minor injuries in the crash. Both the driver and passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The CHP was working to identify the suspect and determine a possible motive.
