2nd Wildfire Erupts In East Contra Costa In As Many Days
The Walnut Fire broke out in the same vicinity as Thursday's Marsh Fire.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Firefighters battled a second grass fire Friday in as many days near the East Contra Costa County city of Brentwood.
The Walnut Fire broke out around 1 p.m. Friday at Marsh Creek Road and Walnut Boulevard. The 50-acre wildfire was burning on both sides of Vasco Road, Cal Fire reported.
In an update shortly after 2 p.m., officials downsized the Walnut Fire to 45 acres and said it was 10 percent contained.

The Marsh Fire, which broke out Thursday at Marsh Creek Road and Walnut Boulevard, burned some 200 acres and was deemed 100-percent contained shortly before the Walnut Fire broke out Friday.
