The latest on what's happening in Concord, delivered right to your inbox.

Up and at 'em, Concord! Let's get you started this Wednesday with everything you need to know going on today in town.
First, today's weather:
Partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 82 Low: 57.
Here are the top stories today in Concord:
- If you take Kirker Pass Road between Concord and Pittsburg, be aware of some construction that might gum up your commute. Work began yesterday and will last until January 25, 2022, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The work will take place during the day (7 am to 5 pm) Monday through Friday, right on top of commuter traffic, so you should expect delays. The work is for safety improvements, so if you make it through the construction with your sanity intact, you should have a safer commute going forward. (Claycord.com)
- Contra Costa Health Services is making COVID-19 booster vaccines available to all eligible residents. People who are age 65 and older, residents in long-term care centers, anyone between ages 50 and 64 who has high risk underlying medical conditions and those with weakened immune systems are qualified for a third dose. Others under 65 who may also qualify include those who are 18 to 64 and at increased risk of exposure to COVID-19 due to their occupation or institutional setting. Booster doses are not currently recommended for people who received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine. (Claycord.com)
- A woman in the Stoneridge Mall parking lot got a scare on Monday. Three juvenile assailants pinned her arms, pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse and her car. Fortunately, she was able to pull away and make a big racket, which scared the perpetrators away. They were eventually found and nabbed in the area and taken to juvie where they were booked on multiple felony charges. (News 24/680)
