BAY POINT - A fire charred eight units of a 12-unit apartment complex in the community of Bay Point Friday afternoon, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District official.

The county fire district initially received a report shortly before 2 p.m. about a structure fire in the 1100 block of Shoreview Court, Bain said.
Crews arrived to find that four units of the building were engulfed in flames.

The blaze then spread to four more units. Firefighters had the fire contained at 2:35 p.m., Bain said.
Bain said at about 4:15 p.m. that the American Red Cross was responding to assist the apartment's displaced residents.
No injuries have been reported.

BAY POINT - Firefighters are battling a 2-alarm fire at an apartment complex in the community of Bay Point this afternoon, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District official.
A call came in shortly before 2 p.m. about a fire at a two-story apartment complex in the 1100 block of Shoreview Court, Fire Inspector Ryan Bain said.
Crews arrived to find that a fire had spread to four units of the building.
None of the residents reportedly suffered injuries, Bain said.
As of 2:30 p.m., the blaze had not yet been brought under control.
Bain said the fire appeared to have spread to the building's attic. Bain expected crews to be at the scene for several more hours.
