A Call For Help Leads Detectives To Deadly Scene: Contra Costa County Sheriff

Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly incident in a small corner of Contra Costa County.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Homicide detectives are investigating what led to a double stabbing that left a woman dead in a small Contra Costa County bedroom community.

At about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Muir Station deputies of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on the 100 block of Riverside Place in Bay Point following a call for police assistance.

Deputies found a man and a woman with stab wounds. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, while the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released her identity.The Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit continues to investigate the stabbing. Anyone with information should contact the Investigation Division at (925) 313-2600, email tips@so.cccounty.us,or call (866) 846-3592 to leave an anonymous message.

The stabbing case marks the second homicide in the county this year. In February, Edward Garofalo IV, 38, of Martinez, was killed in a shooting near the Oakley-Bethel Island border, in another unincorporated area of Contra Costa County.
