St. Paul's Concert Series is back from its summer break, and we are absolutely delighted to kick off our Fall concert season with pianist Mira Armij Gill, with special guest violinist Francisco Salazar in a delightful performance on Saturday, August 29 at 7:00pm. Known for her spectacular poetic and inspiring performances around the world, Ms. Gill brings absolute magic to the stage. Inspired by her recently-released album Piano Works of Samuel Barber, the concert will highlight Barber’s Nocturne Op. 33; Excursions Op. 20; and Sonata, Op. 26 as well as his Canzone Op. 38 for Violin and Piano, featuring Salazar on violin. When performed recently at Carnagie Hall in New York, praise abounded of Gill’s Barber Nocturne, which “held truly inspired moments, ending with the trill that was absolutely transporting.” Also noted was the "moving rendition of Barber's achingly beautiful Canzone by Ms. Gill with her husband Francisco Salazar."
