Concord K-9 Finds Stabbing Suspect, Police Say
The sheriff's office assisted in the search by providing a helicopter crew but a Concord PD K-9 ultimately found the suspect, police said.
CONCORD, CA — A suspect sought for stabbing two people Wednesday in Concord was found hiding in a shed after a two-hour search, police said. The stabbing was reported around 5:30 p.m. at Willow Pass Community Park on East Olivera, police said.
Officers arrived to find two people suffering from stab wounds. However, the person suspected in the stabbings had already taken off, police said.
After two hours of searching yards, Concord police K-9 Hancock found the juvenile suspect hiding in a shed.

"The suspect peacefully surrendered and was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon," police said.
Concord PD thanked the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office for "assisting from up above" by providing a helicopter during the search.

One of the stabbing victims was treated at the scene and left without going to the hospital, Cpl. David Petty told Patch Friday morning.
"The other was still at the hospital as of yesterday [Thursday], stable and should be released from the hospital soon," Petty said.
