  1. Love music? You'll love the East Bay lineup for 2022! Closest to home, Tears for Fears will rock the Concord Pavilion, but if you're willing to travel over a county or two, you can find everyone from Snoop Dog to Paul McCartney! (SF Chronicle Datebook)
  2. A freeway fire Tuesday afternoon in Concord caused a traffic backup. Smoke from a fire was reported around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound state Highway 4 at state Highway 242, according to the California Highway Patrol. Crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the blaze. (Concord Patch)
  3. This St. Patrick's Day, the Concord Police Department will be on alert for suspected impaired drivers and reminds the community to celebrate the holiday responsibly. "Have a game plan before you celebrate St. Patrick's Day," Concord Police Department, Lt. Mark Robison said. "Designate a sober driver or make other plans to get home safely." Lt. Robison wants to warn the community that alcohol is not the only substance that can cause impairment. Cannabis, prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and illegal drugs can all lead to a DUI. (East County Today)
  4. The Contra Costa County Public Works Department will perform crash cushion replacement work on Kirker Pass Road, approximately one mile southwest of Nortonville Road. The work is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 through Thursday, March 24. Work will occur from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled via temporary single-lane closures on both the north- and southbound lanes. (East County Today)

  • Diamond Terrace Senior Retirement Center in Clayton is looking for some volunteers to do crafts/activities with their seniors. They will sign off on community service hours if you need them. Come make a difference in the hearts of our elderly community! Must be fully vaccinated. Please call and ask for Crystal 925-524-5100.
  • MDUSD Education Foundation (MDEDF) will host a bocce tournament in Clayton in May. Founded in 2017 by a group of parents, educators, and community members, the foundation provides science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) enrichment opportunities to more than 28,000 students. Registration is now open for the May 7 tournament at the Ipsen Family Bocce Park in Clayton. The team entry fee is $600 for 4-10 players. (Pioneer Publishers)
  • Join Antioch Historical Society Saturday April 2, 11 am – 3 pm for its Sesquicentennial Kick-Off BBQ! This will be a fun day of food, music and great family fun! Tour the beautiful museum free of charge, listen to live music from Vocal Ease and our local high school and view Antioch's Middle Schools Art Contest winners! This event is free to the public. However, food and beverages are an additional charge.
