Concord Police Need Help Identifying Woman Killed On Highway 242
Investigators have been unable to identify a woman who was struck and killed on a Concord highway early Sunday morning.

CONCORD, CA - Investigators have been unable to identify a woman who was struck and killed on a Concord highway early Sunday morning and are asking for assistance finding out who she was, Contra Costa County sheriff's officials said Monday.
The woman was hit by a car on southbound state Highway 242 near Olivera Road at 2:09 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP investigators haven't found any witnesses, so haven't determined what kind of vehicle hit her or what she was doing just before she died, CHP Officer Brandon Correia said.
A witness stopped shortly after and found her lying in the roadway.

The driver of the car didn't stop and CHP investigators are trying to track that person down.

The county coroner's office responded and took custody of her body but she was not carrying identification so who she was remains a mystery.
She is described as a woman between 50 and 60 years old with dark hair with some graying standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 143 pounds. She was wearing a gray and blue button-down pinstripe shirt when she was hit.
The woman was carrying a distinctive red and gray pouch necklace that contained what appears to be clear crystal, sheriff's officials said.
