CONCORD, CA — The City of Concord will open the Concord Senior Center as a cooling center daily Friday through Tuesday, as temperatures are expected to soar.
The cooling center, at 2727 Parkside Circle, will be open during the hottest portion of the day, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., to provide a cool place for individuals and families to escape the heat, officials said.
All visitors will be required to check-in and complete a brief, health screening prior to entry. Social distancing protocols will be in place, and masks/face coverings are required for entry. A mask will be provided, if needed, the city said.
