Concord Woman, Boyfriend Charged In Husband's Death: DA

CONCORD, CA — The Contra Costa District Attorney has filed homicide charges against a Concord couple.

Ismael Alvarez, 34, and Francesca Charlene Lopez, 44, are currently being held at the county jail in Martinez in connection with the Jan. 31 death of Felipe Dejesus Lopez in Concord, the DA's Office said in a news release Wednesday.

Francesca Lopez is the wife of Felipe Lopez, but it appears she was in a relationship with Alvarez at the time of the killing in Felipe's home, the DA's Office said.

The pair was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

Francesa was arrested Tuesday by Concord police and Alvarez was taken into custody April 26 on a parole hold.

In addition to the homicide charge, the pair is also charged with two special circumstances allegations accusing them of homicide for financial gain and homicide in the course of a burglary.

Alvarez faces other charges due to a prior conviction for attempted robbery in 2019.
