Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- A collision between two vehicles sent seven people to the hospital early Sunday in Concord. The collision happened at the intersection of Willow Pass Road and Port Chicago Hwy. just after midnight. One car was going northbound on Port Chicago Highway, and another was going westbound on Willow Pass Road before the two cars collided. The intersection was closed for about three hours. Three victims were transported to local hospitals by helicopter and four by ambulance, according to an 1:59 a.m. tweet from the Concord Police Department. (KRON4)
- On October 27th a stolen motorhome crashed in the intersection of of Bollinger Canyon Road and Alcosta Blvd. striking another vehicle. The motorhome flipped on it's side. The driver of the involved vehicle was unhurt, but the driver of the motorhome needed medical attention. Further details have now been released on the motorhome driver. He has been identified as as Eric Games, a 42-year-old male out of San Francisco. Games was released from custody in San Francisco on October 26th and into San Francisco County's supervised release program with two pending criminal cases. Upon release from John Muir hospital, Games will be booked into the Contra Costa County Jail on the San Francisco County warrant and additional violations. (News 24/680)
- The US Citizenship and Immigration Services San Francisco field office joined with the City of Pittsburg to present a special naturalization ceremony in the council chambers on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021. At the event, 25 immigrants from 13 nations became U.S citizens. The keynote speaker was Pittsburg Mayor Merl Craft. (Contra Costa Herald)
- The Lamorinda Arts Council invites everyone to view a solo in-person show and virtual exhibit of oil paintings by featured artist John Anderle during November. Meet the artist at a reception in his honor on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. where light refreshments will be served. This is the only time the Gallery will be open to the public. All COVID-19 precautions will be observed for safety. "Welcome Home: Memories in Brushstrokes" is the theme for the 18 bold and colorful paintings he is exhibiting. (The Orinda News)
