Crews Contain Willow Pass Fires Along Highway 4 In Bay Point
One person was in custody in connection with the fires, authorities said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — An arrest was made in connection with two vegetation fires that broke out Tuesday afternoon along the north side of state Highway 4 in Bay Point, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.
The fires were first reported around 2:30 p.m. on westbound SR-4 at Willow Pass Road.
"Con Fire currently engaged fighting several early-season veg fires burning along north side of Hwy 4 in Bay Point," Con Fire officials said on Twitter at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday. "These are the first significant fires of the season & an indicator of dangerous conditions."

Shortly after 4 p.m., Con Fire announced one of the fires was contained to 1 acre and forward progress was stopped at 2.5 acres on a second blaze.
"One suspect has been taken into custody in relation to the fires," Con Fire said.

Both Willow Pass fires were extinguished as of 5:15 p.m. and crews were mopping up, officials said in an update.
The fire was not blocking traffic.
As for the suspect, Con Fire said that person remained in custody and was expected to be charged with two counts of arson.
