Driver Dies In Solo-Car Crash On Treat Boulevard In Concord
Eastbound Treat Boulevard was shut down for more than three hours Tuesday night as the fatal collision was investigated.
CONCORD, CA — A driver died in a solo-vehicle collision Tuesday night in Concord, police said.
Officers with the Concord Police Department responded at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday to a report of the car crash on Treat Boulevard at Oak Grove Road, Concord police Sgt. Shawn Phalen said in a news release.
The driver of the involved vehicle, a 79-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene, Phalen said.

All lanes of eastbound Treat Boulevard were closed for three hours as the fatal crash was investigated.

The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office will identify the man once his next of kin are properly notified.

The crash was still under investigation Wednesday but it did not appear alcohol and/or drugs were a factor, the sergeant said.
