Capriotti's Aims To Take Bite Out of Local Sandwich Business With New Concord Eatery

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, an East Coast-born chain started nearly 40 years ago, opened its first Northern California location on Diablo Street in Concord.

Capriotti’s prides itself on a 38-year old tradition of roasting turkeys and beef overnight and hand-pulling the meat the next morning for its specialty sandwiches. 

Its signature creation, The Bobbie, "turns Thanksgiving dinner into a handheld experience," with in-house roasted shredded turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing all packed into a sandwich.

The new shop is at 1975 Diablo St., Concord.

The Concord location marks the 16th Capriotti's in the state, and the only one in Northern California.
